COVID-19 IN-OFFICE PROTOCOL

COVID-19 message

Dr. John and Team have a protocol in response to COVID-19. Our office will be opening on May 14th! As always, we are adhering to CDC and OSHA regulations, however, during this pandemic, we will be taking exceptional measures for your safety.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:

  1. You will receive an appointment reminder 48 hours prior to your appointment via text or email. Please click HERE to fill out the form 2 days prior to your appointment for the COVID-19 authorization forms and health survey. Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask for some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive.
  2. NEW PATIENTS: Please fill out the medical and dental history forms online. If you can not, please come in 30 minutes before your appointment to fill out paperwork in your car. Paperwork is located on the first floor next to the elevator and below the hand sanitizer. Unless a minor, only patient will come inside.
  3. NEW PATIENTS: Please, Email the following items: Medical & dental history forms, Driver's License, Dental Insurance Card (front & back), Medical Insurance Card (front & back), Prescription Insurance Card (front & back). Email all items One day prior to your appointment.
  4. Text when ready: We reduce the number of patients in the reception area by sending you a text. When you arrive please stay in your car, text us when you are here, and we will text you when we are ready. We want to ensure the previous patient has exited and the workplace is fully sanitized before you enter.
  5. Patients / Guardians, please limit extra companions to only essential people in order to reduce the number of people in the reception area. If you prefer to accompany your child into the office, we will be limited to one adult at this time, please wear a mask.
  6. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  7. The waiting area is closed. You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys, and so forth.
  8. We are making our entry and exit hands-free with sanitary arm or foot door openers.
  9. We are installing counter shields and barriers in our front office area.

DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT:

  1. All patient(s) entering our office will be screened and a temperature reading (<100.4°F) is required with a touchless forehead scanning thermometer.
  2. All patient(s) are required to wear face mask upon entry to our office and please DO NOT touch anything. Touch surfaces as little as possible to help prevent the cross-contamination of COVID-19.
  3. All patient(s) are required to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds in the treatment room. If re-entry to our office is necessary, we ask that you rewash your hands for at least 20 seconds in the treatment room.
  4. All patient(s) are required to do aPre-Rinse for at least 1 minute in the treatment room.
  5. All team members will be screened upon arrival, wearing appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) at all times and adhere to social distancing guidelines whenever possible.
  6. All clinical surfaces are being cleaned with soap and water followed by CDC approved disinfecting products.
  7. We are using methods to reduce aerosol in the office via our intraoral isolation system, dedicated extraoral high volume evacuation system, and standalone Hepa air purifiers. The production of aerosols and splatter in dentistry is one of the biggest concerns about the spread of infection among both dental professionals and their patients.

AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT:

  1. Once the appointment is completed, we will reserve a date and time for the next appointment. If the next appointment is not convenient, please allow us 2 business days in advance to reschedule your reserved appointment and avoid any charges.
  2. Post-op instructions will include a reminder to report any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 within the next 14 days. If you are experiencing these signs or symptoms please contact the office at 770.888.8295.

We reassure that although this may seem strange, it is all being done out of an abundance of concern for your health, as well as that of the other patients being seen in the office, the doctors and the team, and any public with whom they might come in contact. As always, we strive to provide a positive and comfortable experience for our patients and will continue to do so while strictly adhering to the CDC/ADA guidelines. We cannot wait to see your smiling faces again!
